We want to give a warm welcome to our newest veterinarian, Dr. Janet Lowrey.

Dr. Janet:
"I am a very lucky person to be in the veterinary field.  It combines my love of animals with a passion for medicine.  I have worked for 36 years in a dog and cat practice, and now have come to work at the Cat Hospital of Burlington as I have a special place in my heart for our feline friends.  ( I also love dogs and horses).  At home I love to spend time with my cat Freya.  I also horseback ride, hike and love to draw and paint."

We are so excited to have her on our team!

Cathy Burggraf
Veterinary Assistant

Cathy has always had a special affinity for cats.
As a small child, stray cats would follow her around her parent's campground, obviously sensing a kindred spirit.

It was this particular bond that came to Dr. O'Connor's attention when she was volunteering her time at the Burlington Animal Shelter where Cathy was then working. She convinced Cathy to join her at the Cat Hospital in 2002, first year was on a part-time basis and then full-time as hospital manager.

Her instinctive understanding of the nature of cats helps her keep even our most reluctant patients calm and stress-free -- she is, in every way, our resident "cat whisperer".

When not at the Cat Hospital, Cathy can be                  found tending to her own feline family of                    assorted waifs and strays.

Our Registered Veterinary Technician

Laura Preece, RVT

Laura comes to us from the Niagara region and is so delighted to be joining our team here at The Cat Hospital of Burlington.

After graduating from the Veterinary Technology program at Thompson Rivers University, she was quick to become licensed and obtain the title of Registered Veterinary Technician.

Following this, she spent several years taking care of both cats and dogs, but always had a special place in her heart for all the feline patients that touched her life. So when the opportunity came along to work in a cat-only hospital she did not hesitate to accept this exciting position.
Laura shares her  life with her boyfriend Dave, and their  kitties: Rolo, Newton, Cher, Aeris, Wilbur, Tifa, Nova and Pekoe.
